Our work is measured by economic, social, and cultural outcomes.
C-Tribe Society uses C-Tribe Festival & Conference to create tangible opportunities for the communities we serve. We measure impact by how many people from underestimated communities we deliver knowledge capital, financial capital, and social capital to.
Economic impact
World-class events and festivals are a driving force in the Canadian economy. In FY'24, C-Tribe's total economic impact reached $1.8M — up from $386K the previous year — with more than 154 hotel and Airbnb nights booked in Edmonton. For every $1 invested by the city, C-Tribe generated $10.98 in direct revenue, up from $6.90 in 2023.
- $440,820 in direct economic impact from sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees.
- $172,204 in operational impact from year-round staffing and contractors.
- $999,600 in consumer impact from attendee spending across Edmonton.
- $88,164 in indirect and induced economic effects on surrounding businesses.
Social and cultural impact
C-Tribe adds to the vitality of the communities where it operates. In FY'24, the festival demonstrated social and cultural impact across three dimensions:
- Increasing regional visibility — the festival attracted visitors and built the image of Edmonton across diverse communities.
- Creating opportunities for engagement — socialization, entertainment, and the establishment of social networks enhanced community cohesion across demographics.
- Showcasing the city and encouraging collisions — across 8 venues, C-Tribe provided opportunities for locals and visitors to interact with the host community and experience the local economy.
FY'24 highlights
- 54 hours of dedicated programming across 6 festival days.
- 50 speakers and 25 performers featured during the festival.

Impact priorities

- Create more pathways for communities to meet collaborators, employers, investors, mentors, and audiences.
- Strengthen the regions where we operate as meeting points for innovation, culture, and commerce.
- Build a festival ecosystem where each vertical speaks directly to a distinct community while reinforcing the larger nonprofit mission.
